3 Benefits of Updating your NPOconnect Profile
Direct Deposit Registration and Donation Visibility
The workspace in NPOconnect gives nonprofits a quick overview of recent donations and pending donations made through the CSRconnect platform. Based on feedback from nonprofit users we’ve recently added a column that displays the company name that made the charitable donation.
Nonprofits can also register for ACH (direct deposit). ACH registration is free and over 68,000 charities have already registered for ACH and get payments up to 3 weeks faster than by check. Besides receiving donations quickly, other benefits from registering for ACH include:
- Secure payments that ensure funds are accepted and available immediately upon disbursement
- Reduces environmental footprint from printing and mailing paper checks
- Prevents potential stranded funds when checks are not deposited in a timely manner
Visibility
The charity profile allows Nonprofit Administrators to clearly communicate their organization’s mission and goals, update the logo, website address and contact information. We also recommend that organizations create Tags to assist potential donors in finding them. For example, the World Wildlife Fund profile shows the tags they have added include “climate” and “environment”.
Tags allow companies employees to filter their volunteer opportunities or giving search results based on keywords. When our customer success team helps companies create campaigns, we use features in CSRconnect like a keyword search banner to curate volunteering or giving opportunities. For example, here is a keyword search list for Black History Month.
- Justice, Equity, Racial, Freedom, Civil Rights, Activism, Black Lives Matter, BLM, Martin Luther King Jr., MLK, Malcolm X, Racism, Emancipation, African-American, Black History Month, BHM
A user interested in looking for organizations that support social justice could enter any of these keywords into a search and all nonprofit organizations with those tags would surface up.
Verification and Compliance Notifications
Did you know certain actions require that your organization has a nonprofit administrator on file within NPOconnect? These include compliance agreements and/or verifying employee activity like volunteering or donating to receive matching funds.
Compliance
Some of our corporate customers require that nonprofit organizations acknowledge and accept compliance agreements unique to their CSR programs before matching funds can be sent. NPOconnect administrators can access and complete these compliance and affirmation statements within NPOconnect.
Donation Verification
Most companies allow multiple donation method options to employees including offline donations. These donations are made outside of the platform but logged in CSRconnect. Once your nonprofit organization is registered, your NPOconnect administrator will receive notification emails when you need to verify an offline donation that an employee has logged.
Your organization will also receive notifications if you need to verify volunteer hours. These verification steps are often required by the company to disburse additional funds for matching gifts or volunteer grants.
