Sharing YourCause Enthusiasm
1. What advice would you give a future YourCause employee?
As a fairly new employee myself, the advice I received is still fairly fresh in my mind. The best piece of advice I would pass on is to ask questions! YourCause employees are excited to be here, and it shows. They’re enthusiastic about passing along what they’ve learned. Asking questions is a such a great way to learn even more about your new department, the culture and the company.
By asking questions, you will also learn a lot about your co-workers. It’s true what they say about the people making the place, and the people here have some fantastic stories about their experiences and interests. And I think knowing more about your co-workers helps to find common interests (or new interests!), which adds to an enjoyable and fun work environment. When you get to know the person working next to you, it really helps to learn the daily responsibilities and work through any larger projects or questions that may arise.
2. What are your favorite things about working at YourCause and why?
In short, the mission, the people and the environment. Finding reward in what you do day-to-day is very important to me, and right away sets the tone for work-life satisfaction. Sure, challenges will come up from time to time, but knowing that you are working towards something meaningful to you helps put those challenges in perspective.
3. What 3 words would you use to describe the culture at YourCause and why?
I think the 3 words I learned at my orientation were decided upon for very valid reasons: Real. Passionate. Dedicated. Those three words sum up the culture and the personalities here. They’re also three words that I can definitely stand behind.
