Inside Innovation: A glance at YourCause products and features – August 2016
We love building technology that helps employees and corporations connect with the causes they care about most. We study how users interact with our platform, collaborate with clients, and throw in a few ideas of our own to continuously drive our platform innovation. Our July release included a number of user-centric features, administrative tools to drive hyper-local initiatives in national and international programs, and streamlined user experience to make redeeming Cause Cards more intuitive.
Annual Giving Campaigns
Campaign season is here! Our Product Innovation team worked hard to complete Phase 1 of our mobile-responsive campaign. CSRconnect’s campaign feature now includes a “shopping cart” workflow, whereby an employee can add multiple pledges to their cart and “checkout” their pledges at one time. This new workflow will allow employees to quickly and easily participate in the campaign and request matching gifts with just a few clicks.
The campaign homepage also received a facelift – now allowing clients to create campaign-specific engagement elements to communicate campaign and matching gift guidelines, and now includes the ability to activate an optional tracker to share total dollars raised and/or progress made towards reaching the year’s campaign goal.
YourCause’s segmentation feature gives clients the ability to group users by common attributes and configure a unique user experience for each of these groups. Industry data shows that individuals of different generations, locations and cultures have varying preferences for how they want to give their time and money, and segmentation arms administrators with the tools they need to easily manage and promote hyper-local programs, initiatives and guidelines within a global community.
For example, the 2015 CAF World Giving Index survey showed 87% of respondents in Thailand made a donation in the previous month, while only 14% had volunteered their time. Thailand has a high proportion of Theravada Buddhists – a religion whereby “charitable giving is integral to religious observance,” and drives the higher donation rate over volunteering. Segmentation allows clients to strategically organize and promote localized programs that can target the engagement trends and preferences of specific employee populations.
YourCause’s CauseCard feature allows clients to offer incentive or recognition programs for employees with the flexibility to donate those rewards to a charity of their choice. Many YourCause clients use CauseCards to keep employees engaged as various events, programs, or initiatives are rolled out throughout the year – and for these clients, we’ve designed a quicker, easier way for employees to redeem CauseCards.
As YourCause continues to evaluate our current functionality and explore innovative ideas for future enhancements, we will consistently focus on how the CSRconnect platform drives employee participation through an intuitive and engaging user experience.
